Job Title: Positive Behavior Specialist Reports to: Exceptional Education Director
Purpose: Responsible for providing training (with an emphasis and priority on the “strategic and intensive intervention levels) support and coordination of activities to the school and/or district in the implementation of IEP related services provided to students with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
- Would prefer an applicant with training in ABA and/or PBIS
- Must be at least 21 to apply and Possess valid driver’s license
- Three years of classroom teaching experience or counseling /PBS experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, facilitate and provide technical assistance to the school or district regarding positive behavior support implementation and activities.
- Serve as member of the TST team when appropriate.
- Design and deliver social skills training and/or counseling to students with disabilities as indicated on the student’s IEP
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments when recommended by IEP team.
- Provide support to teams in designing interventions based on functions of behavior.
- Work with district consultants and administrators, as well as school teams to establish data collection, analysis, evaluation, and reporting processes.
- At the request of the SPED Director communicate orally and in writing information about implementation of related services and outcomes as needed.
- Confer, plan, and communicate effectively with the Principal and Exceptional Ed. Director concerning the implementation and effectiveness of related services being delivered to students with disabilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Exceptional Ed. Director which assist in assuring effective program outcomes.
Terms of Employment: 187days: Salary & work year to be (According to the current schedule)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year established by SCCSD School Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated bi-annually by the Superintendent.
